    Game Over...
Got back on tuesday night from a rather nice week in Aberdeen, spent a lot of time with my friends, and some time with my family. And for the first time since i moved to London(over 2 years ago!) i really wish i was still up there with them.

Things have been 'funny' with Mike for a while now, but i put it down to him feeling overly stressed at work, and feeling like he didn't have much time to himself. However as it turns out, he's been chatting with, and has met up with, some girl from 'faceparty'. Just found out this gem on tuesday night.
now, before i went up to Aberdeen we had a long talk about 'us', and how he didn't want us to be together anymore, i didn't take it well, and was determined not to give up...But by the time i got on a plane 2 days later i had completely turned around. I could see that he really didn't want to be in our relationship any more, and although we've had our moments in the past (almost breaking up, but staying together) i could see that this time was different.
So i spent my week in the 'deen feeling positive about the change, i honestly need to get on with my life, and get on track with my art-career, so it seemed like this would ultimately be a good thing.
Having learned about this other person has spun me though. And i'm not feeling so good at the moment.

Everyone who lives here in London knows that it can tear you apart if you don't have a good structure of friends to be with, and i'm not feeling like i do at the moment. I'm quite worried about that.

So yeah, our 5 year relationship is finally over. We'll see what happens, if we can still live in the same flat, and still be friends ( i hope so)

I need a new Job! I think (and hope) that my boss is going to sell the shop (We're losing too much money for her to make it viable any more) so am going to start looking for something new.

All of this coupled with the fact that my family has split up/fallen apart, and my parents are selling our house in Aberdeen, means that i
really have a new life ahead of me. (and no old-life to fall back on)

The future is looming, and i think i might actually be sick.

    bugger.

    heh hehh
It's been an awfully long time since my last entry, no excuses really, but have been pretty busy, moving flat and working my usual hours at the shop.

We're all settled into the new flat now, just lacking in some furniture (a bed, wardrobe and chest 'o' drawers) which will be ordered tonight maybe. it's a lovely flat. bigger bedroom for Mike and i, so i have plenty space for my desk, and therefore no reason to put off any artwork or sewing projects...muahh hahhh

Am thinking about going to surprise Bruce (Red Warrior) at New Designers (Graduate exhibition here in London). might go along today, but might go on Friday afternoon...hmm

well, better get on with some painting i guess, am working on a short story project, illustrating a lovely story called 'Fishing for Jasmine'. hopefully it will come out nicely, coherent, and the first full story i have illustrated (in a long time anyway)

happy birthday to Grant by the way!!! Sorry i couldn't join you for a day and night of drinking, but i was kinda here...Am planning a possible late July/early August trip to Aberdeen though...

    see ya later...

    Jamaica...
Mike, Willie and i got back to Britain this morning, We left this city on the 18th, and after a 10 hour flight we arrived in Kingston, Jamaica.

we were supposed to be staying at Robyn's dad's house for a night, but a taxi had been organised for us to leave straight away - a 3-4 hour drive to Montego Bay (we drove the length of the country, throught ghetto's and cliffs, forests and quarry's, it was terrifying, and the driver got VERY lost - he was asking Mike if he was on the right road!!!) We arrived at midnight (they're 5 hours behind us) Our villa was lovely, pool, sea view (and there was a MacDonalds down the road too!) we shared the villa with Barry's 2 brothers, managed to get pished every day, and had a great laugh.

Barry and Robyn got married in Sandals (resort hotel place) on the beach, and we had the reception on a small island off the coast. it went very well, and a great deal of alcohol was consumed by all : )

we discovered the next night that a day/night pass could be bought for Sandals, and that all food/booze/activities were free after that, so we paid $70 each, had a 3 course meal, and proceeded to tan the bar till 2am followed by burgers and chips afterwards. mike worked out that after the £35 we spent we consumed about £4/500 worth of booze/food. (there were 5 of us, so not too bad going!)

the holiday was great, we all went on a few day-trips (the 2 families and us) saw a lot of the country, got incredibly sunburnt (barry's brother had to go to the doctor to have huge burn-blisters removed from his feet, and got an injection in his ass!)

there's so much that happened...we ended up missing our flight by a whole day (all mike's fault, he got the days wrong), and had to get standby tickets for the next flight (the day after that) so managed to stay in kingston after all, *sigh*

didnt want to come back, despite the beasties (cockroaches, rats, mosquitoes, black widow spiders etc etc) and despite the raging sun, i really enjoyed it there, it's SOO not London, people live in sheds/shacks in the hills and by the road. there's no discernable speed limit, or driving laws of any kind. it's so cool. (scary but cool)

the only drawbacks were being ripped off a lot by taxi drivers, the very varying prices of things (ripped off again) and the cat-calls and confrontations from the natives (*kiss kiss* heyyy whitieee) people are mostly friendly, but very up-front and in your face.

ahh well. that's my review of my holiday, i would reccomend it to anyone, just be wary of prices (ask before you get in a taxi) and be confident in saying NO, when you dont want to buy something (we were daily offered clothes, bags, jewellery, weed, X, women (!)... and, they will do their best to have you go home and recommend jamaica to others, they really need the tourist trade over there, it's about the biggest business in the country.

*phewwwww* well i'm done (i finished my drink) so i'll go now, and not ramble any more. hope to catch up with people very soon, just give me a day to get used to being here (ughhh jet-lag) and i'll be fine

    irie,

    Beth

    whoooooooo *pop*
Jeez it's been a while. things have been pretty chaotic since my birthday, we got a new flatmate, in the form of Bob. and have been having people over almost nightly...i wont complain, but it has burst my 'working in peace' bubble that i had going. i have been working on a lot of paintings, and been getting good feedback from random nosy people...

    just about recovered from going back + forth to Birmingham for the spring fair trade show, since my boss had her baby 3 days ago, i went on my lonesome to see what was new in the world, and order shed-loeads of new stock for the shop. it's way too easy to spend someone elses money... : / i must have ordered about £6,000 worth of stuff...i hope we can afford it...hehe ^^;

anyhoo, things have been fun/strange here, there are nightly convo's/arguments about how much Bob drinks, which i try to stay out of, but he's doing great, he got a Job, and is at least drinking a lot less than when he was in Aberdeen. we just got 2 more visitors last night, Emily and Mary are staying the weekend (while Emily helps out at a different trade show, of alternative clothing) looks like we are all going out tonight, for a thai meal, then off to the 12 bar club on Tottenham Ct Road, to see a friend of willie's band play.

oh! and for Grant and Nikki...Bill Bailey will be in Aberdeen as the last gig of his tour...i'm gonna go see him in London, he should be in Aberdeen on the 11th of July

gotta go, i have a million people talking to me on messenger...aaauughhh

soo, yeah i'm going to Jamaica next month, it's our friends Barry + Robyn's wedding, they have got themselves an island just off Montego Bay for the ceremony, so it sounds like it's gonna be amaaaazing! yah maaan.

been working lots, but am getting some painting done too, just got a script/rough outline from Willie, for a film that he + Barry would like to make. so am gonna put together a storyboard for them. seems interesting, so i'll see what i can come up with for them :/

    aghh ill!
Well, i'm back home, had a great time in Aberdeen!

drank lots, ate loads of chips/cheese (mmmm) went out a couple of times, and saw lots of people i hadn't seen in ages ^_^

Oreli had a great time too, finally met bob (who we were trying to set her up with) and got along very, very well...i think they're planning to run away to romania together and buy a farm...

i had a great week up there (except for the last couple of hours, what with everyone trying to emotionally blackmail me into staying, foreverrr) but after about 2 minutes frantic packing, and a swift couple of taxis, i made it back to london...

and now...i'm ill. AGAIN!!! it's just a cold, but good grief it's irritating!!!

am trying to think what i want to do this morning...must pay in my wages, and should try to get to my bank in picadilly circus...can i be bothered going all that way though?

my dad and i swopped laptops, so instead of my wee vaio notebook, i have a proper sized laptop now, which is great cause i can play 'the sims' again (heheeee)

Mike got home last night too (from aberdeen) and coupled with the effects of a bottle of wine oreli and i drank last night, the flat is a total mess...ah well, i'm gonna probably play the sims all morning, and go to work at 2pm........

    not long now!
i think i got it all done, got my trifle bowl, whisk, even a nutcracker! the last presents are bought and wrapped, and i have to be at work in 20 minutes. i think (except for the food) i'm ready to chill and enjoy xmas day. *phew*
it's my first xmas not at home, and i feel like i've managed to organise everything by myself, party poppers, crackers (must get napkins...) and i'm knackered. i know it doesnt really matter to anyone else, but these are the things we expect at xmas...i just want it to be nice. i think i've come through my 3 day xmas depression (i think i get it every year) when i stress about how much i've spent, and wether i shouldve done this or that, or got this or that...i just want to sleeeeep! after a 55 hour week, then a 60 hour week, and a mere 27 hours this week, i'm ready to sleep for a year.
can't wait to come up north to see everyone, hope to figure something out for new year (is everyone going to moshulu???) better go to work soon...

    Lord of the Rings Premiere...
Have been working a hideous amount this week, 55 hours or so...but last night after work, Aurelie and i legged it (well we got the tube...) to Leicester square to see if we could catch the L.O.T.R premiere...we arrived to find hundreds of screaming people pushed up against the barriers around the odeon cinema, we walked around to try to find a better place to stand, and ended up standing on a big plantpot with a tree in it, in the doorway of some hotel...we did see some people who may have been somebody...but we only really saw Viggo mortensen (sp ?) who went around signing and shaking hands etc.
we waited around some more, but they had all gone inside by then : ( we would have had to wait till 11:30pm to see them come out, but we opted for home instead. we were too late! so disappointed, Aurelie wanted to see Peter Jackson, and possibly punch him in the belly to get his attention (while screaming 'hire me!!!')
    ah well, could've worked...
got my only half day this week today, so am going shopping after work! aaaagh!

    Snaiiiils
Yesterday i finished work at 2pm, after spending the morning training up a new member of staff...i went home and decided to totally rearrange our living room and 'mezzanine' area...it looks really nice now, and i have a big table cleared for my art stuff ^^

When Aurelie got home, we decided to open the bottle of bubbly she brought back from France, and she decided to cook us some snails! she did it properly apparently, boiling the and adding Cognac and garlic/butter, putting them in shells and cooking them on a bed of rock salt. I have a 'thing' about bugs and creepy crawlies, and i really didnt think i could eat one, but i ate about 15...(and mike 'hardcore' koss couldn't even eat one!! hahahahahahaah)
they were really nice actually, i feel proud.

Managing to go to bed angry, sleep angry, wake up throughout the night and be annoyed, and be hacked off when i wake up isn't very satisfying. Dont know what the hell is up with Mike right now, but he seems to want to piss me off just for the hell of it.

oh well, i get to go to work later, and hopefully Aurelie and i are going out tonight, so i hope the day gets better...

Just finished washing all the dishes, hoovered the whole flat (well almost) and tidying up. i fuking hate hoovering, my carpet just does not want to be clean, and my hoover just wants to move stuff around, and not pick it up >_<

Mike's trying to book flights for the 3 of us to come up to the 'deen after xmas. looks like it's gonna be bout £150 each, return, so it should be cool. hopefully will be up on the 27/28th and will be up for 7 days, yayy!!! i'm really looking forward to seeing you people again!

    well, i'm gonna go mess around with stuff, might actually get some painting done : / ooh, and i must watch the last of the 'secrets' DVD Grant gave me ages ago, it's soooo pretty, but i feel like i'm watching porn, so i'll only watch it when everyone else is out, hehe ^^;

    GO GO YUBABAAAAAAAA
Just watched KILL BILL, and i fukin' loved it. Can't wait for the second chapter. If ever i was blessed with the opportunity to kill somebody, i'd like to do it with the skill, style, weapon, and CLASS of Go Go Yubaba...(possibly with the outfit too ^^; ) damn.

My great flatmate Aurelie has now returned from her weekend back home (France) and has brought us a pleasantly frightening mixture of gifts...cognac, sweeties, duty-free fags ^_^, a bug in a lollypop, more sweets, a heck of a lot of pate, wine, cheeses, and...escargot (snails) if i can work up the nerve to eat the snails, i'll let u know how it goes.

My boyfriend was also away this weekend, (short trip to Glasgow) so i got the flat all to myself ^_^ . I was planning to paint and do poi all weekend, but ended up sitting on my ass in my PJ's, watching TV. I did go out on saturday night, to SoHo, with my friend Asal, to a bar for my friend Sonja's birthday, and we were joined later by Yasuko too, so it was a pretty good night!

am gonna go curl up on the sofa, and maybe go to bed soon.
